Jono Jones
Jono began making music at an early age and became part of several musical projects in his hometown throughout his childhood. He graduated from high school and began studying music professionally to pursue a musical career. Later, he moved to Vienna, where he co-founded the band “The Express Train” with his long-time friend, Harold Taylor.
He wrote songs for several musical projects of which he was part and began producing songs for himself. Among them; Tijuana Love (band co-founded by Canche Zarco and Jono Jones.) He instantly became an independent artist, moving through Vienna, Guatemala and New York for concerts, contacts, collaborations and inspiration.
In May 2014, he released his first single “Swimming” with the collaboration of the talented artist Estefani Brolo. This song put Jono in the spotlight throughout Central America and entered the top 20 of Guatemalan radio.
In March 2015, he released his second single entitled “We Are Kids” that took him back to the top 20 of the Guatemalan radio scene. Also to the 100 best songs of the year in Central America and to Women’s Radio in El Salvador. In December of that same year he made a mini tour of El Salvador with the local band, Tónico 86. In addition to playing in different countries, he played for the “EMF” music festival in April 2015, March 2019 and opened the concert for “Natalia Lafourcade” in July 2016.
In October 2016, he launched “We Go Up” as a collaboration with producer Bumont. The song instantly received excellent reviews and became No. 1 on Guatemalan radio for several weeks. In 2017, Jono releases his debut EP entitled “The Fight”. Since 2018, Jones has chosen to release only singles, which are; “U” ft. Pablo Quintero (2018), “Un Poco Más [Jono Jones Remix]” with Harold Taylor (2018).
From 2019, Jones decides to collaborate with the Mexican producer and composer “Paul Castillo”, with whom they become friends and since then the Latin influence begins to emerge in Jones with 100% Spanish songs.
“Tu Calor” is the first single from that collaboration (2019), “Intento” (2019), “Vicio Favorito” (2020), Te Complace (2021), “I A” (2021).He is currently working on a new stage of his life, where he assures; that at last he echoed what he was looking for… “Pijama” is the first single that celebrates this artistic rebirth for Jones.
